The IPACSO Innovation Framework is holistic in its approach, depending on your interest you can choose any of the five categories or gates.

Depending on your interest and prior work, you can browse the five categories and discover the different components underneath. Browsing through the whole model and following the suggestions for the templates you will be guided through an innovation process.

As an example, if you already have an idea or even a product you are considering to launch, you could wish to start with the MARKET gate and follow the different steps in assessing whether you are meeting the various market components in terms of demand, supply, economics drivers, state of the art or other components.

Alternatively, should you know your market, and you are seeking for another product or idea, you could start with the IDEAS gate and apply some of the innovation development methodologies.

While the framework is still being optimized, please come back or leave your contact detailsand we will inform you on the further developments.

    NOTE
Use of the terms “PACs” and “cyber security” throughout - the term “PACs” (Privacy and Cyber Security) is used frequently throughout this content, with “cyber security” officially defined by ISO as the ‘preservation of confidentiality, integrity and availability of information in the Cyberspace‘. While other terms can have separate nuanced definitions for related terms such as “IT Security”, “ICT Security”, “network security”, “internet security” and so on, use of the terms “PACs” and “cyber security” are both used liberally here to encompass one or all of these overlapping terms depending on context. Hence when a term such as “the PACs marketplace” is used, it may also imply related terms, e.g. “the ICT Security marketplace” or the “network security marketplace” depending on the precise context.

The products theme contains all steps that deal with getting a fundable idea that has been approved during the portfolio management activity to market.

The Products Theme is broadly divided into three subthemes delineated by filters, which make sure that products that hit a brick wall somewhere in the process implied by the Product Theme are consequently abandoned:

    Project Planning

This subtheme is concerned with developing and implementing a project management process and methodology to guide the process of transforming concepts throughout the remainder of the innovation value chain lifecycle. Once an appropriate project management methodology has been chosen, it should be adapted to the requirements of the organization that will be using it.

    Product Elaboration

The product elaboration theme itself is an iterative theme and reflects the activities and stages that will turn the concept towards actual market-ready product/service. The steps in this subtheme are specifically meant to be executed in an iterative fashion. At the end of each iteration there is an implementation gate, so that the product can be killed off if necessary.

    Exploitation

In the exploitation sub-theme, activities related towards positioning the marketing and selling the product/service under development  and incorporates a range of activities including but not limited to supply chain, production, distribution, sales and marketing and product lifecycle management.
