Espion Ltd was started in 2001 and is headquartered in Dublin. Over recent years Espion has enjoyed strong
growth and now employs 50 staff. The company is Irish Director Owned, with 4 directors making up the
management team. Currently our main markets are in Ireland, UK and Continental Europe. The company has
five main business areas: Information Governance, Forensics and eDiscovery, Security Management,
Technology Distribution and Research & Training. Espion cover a wide range of information security
services such as security risk assessments, PCI certification, penetration testing, web app testing and business
continuity planning management among others. In addition to this we conduct Forensic Investigations and
eDiscovery projects and act as a distributor for brands such as Fortinet, Riverbed and Kaspersky. Espion are
also one of the largest digital forensics service providers in Europe, providing expertise to law enforcement,
legal stakeholders and corporate among other domains. Espion are presently involved in the SAWSOC FP7
Security call project, focusing on developing increased situational awareness and interoperability across
physical and logical security operation centres (SOCs). In particular, Espion will develop cyber forensic tool
support as part of the project, as well as providing market expertise around SIEM technologies, for which
Espion are an MSSP.


In relation to IPaCSO, Espion bring a range of relevant past experience - including significant product and
services expertise around the PACS domain, as well as key expertise around structured? market assessment
and innovation. As part of their Technology Distribution division, Espion maintain a continous deep
understanding of market needs in the security and networking domains, via continuous engagement with
vendors, distributors, end-users, and use of structured market assessment methods. Example key vendor
relationships include Vasco, Motorola, Fortinet, Riverbed, Meraki, Westcon, Vyatta and Webroot among
many others. Espion have provided periodic input and advice to the Irish government in relation to cyber
security strategy, and also provided range of technical content for Irish “Make IT Secure” campaign on
periodic basis since 2004 in line with new and emerging cyber threats. They have also provided significant
input to National Hi-Tech crime forum with Irish government, Irish law enforcement (Garda Siochana), key
national and international banks and the UK’s Hi-Tech crime unit.
