Support Project for Cyber Security and Privacy Innovators in Europe launched.

Dublin, Brussels, Berlin, November 1st, 2013.

A support project, funded by the European Commission under the Framework 7 program was launched today in Dublin at the Waterford Insitute of Technology (WIT). The project under the name of IPACSO (Innovation Framework for Privacy and Cyber Security Market Opportunities) is a project by leading industry and academic partners in Europe to support the development of ICT Security and Trustworthy ICT innovations, with a focus on Cyber Security and Privacy Innovations.

The project aims to bring together expertise and experience, cyber security and privacy market information, innovation process methodologies, economic incentives, legal and market barriers. By reaching out to Cyber Security and Privacy innovators, IPACSO aims to present a collective innovation framework, resulting out of best practices and theoretical expertise. This Innovation Framework will be validated with industry and research partners, being the largest stakeholders of this endeavour.

With industry partners such as Vasco Data Security (Nasdaq VSX) headquartered in Zurch with operations in Belgium and US, Espion Group (IE) and LSEC - Leaders In Security (BE) and academic partners TSSG and RIKON from WIT (Waterford Institute of Technology) (IE) and DIW Berlin (Deutsche Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung), the project brings together several decades of expertise and experience in innovation.

Cyber Security, Privacy and other ICT Security and Trustworthy ICT Innovators are called upon to reach out to IPACSO and be informed about additional expertise that will be valuable throught further innovative developments. During the course of 2014, IPaCSO will launch the Privacy and Cyber Security Innovation Awards for which it will launch a call early March. In 2014 and throughout 2015, IPaCSO will create a PAC's Innovation Boot Camp intended to support academic and business innovators to jointly develop new products, methodologies and services to bring to market and to jointly innovate on existing and future challenges and opportunities in the domain of Cyber Security, Privacy and related ICT Security markets.
